I’m going through an ice cream phase. At Sur la Table this past Saturday for 4 kinds of ice cream for lunch. A kid’s ultimate dream turned into a reality.

Ice cream makers on in full force. Clockwise from top left: chocolate orange ice cream, coconut ice cream, rum macadamia nut ice cream, mango lime sorbet

Making profiteroles (cream puffs)

Cooling down before putting ice cream inside

Some of the lopsided ones came out looking like ducks. Yes I was a little bored waiting for them to cool.

Chocolate orange ice cream, rich and fudgy, ready to put into the cream puffs

The cream puff lightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. When baked to the correct doneness (allowing enough time to bake and dry out), it should be hollow on the inside.

Mango lime sorbet ready to be transferred to a container to chill

ready to eat after chilling for about an hour. i really like the addition of the lime. it may be too strong for some, but i thought it gave a nice kick. really pretty with the green specs from the lime zest.

Rum macadamia nut ice cream…soup. It didn’t quite freeze all the way but the flavor was really nice. The addition of the grilled pineapple helped. Used it to dip into the soup. It also adds a nice freshness to the creaminess of the ice cream.

Coconut ice cream with toasted coconut flakes. Another one that came out as soup but did not take away from the fantastic flavor. I am not a really big fan of coconut but this was by far my favorite of the four. It does have three kinds of cream (coconut milk, half and half, heavy cream), so its rich and thick, but it is SO good. Hands down the best.

Pizza demo in the store that day. Fresh made margarita pizza. Thank goodness for this to help my stomach with all the sugar and cream.
I think I’ve had enough ice cream for now, unless I see a really exotic flavor that I have to try, or if its just really hot outside. :)
